Writer (1810-1883), wife of Tommaso Z.S. from Forlì, a Mazzinian patriot exiled to Malta after the 1830-1832 uprisings. She collaborated with him on the editing of "Il Mediterraneo", which for three decades was the most influential newspaper among those advocating the Italian cause on the island. Highly educated and versatile, she published several short stories and historical novels in Malta, including "Il ritorno dell'emigrato", "Clelia ossia Bologna nel 1833", "Gli ultimi giorni dei Cavalieri di Malta", and the most well-known and successful "Beatrice Alighieri", published by Filippo Izzo in Valletta in 1847. In the same year, taking advantage of Pius IX's amnesties, she returned with her husband to Romagna.
